I know this has been asked a million times or perhaps even more, but I cannot find an answer.
What is the key combination for entering Unicode characters?
I use Tumbleweed with Xfce. I have tried:
Shift + Ctrl + u … gives underscored u
Alt + u
Shift + Alt + u
None of this seems to work. Suggestions?
Nevermind, I found the solution after one more search:
- Shift + Ctrl + u
- you see an underscored u, but this means the system is expecting an unicode code now
-
insert your unicode sequence
-
press ENTER
For example, “interpunct” (Interpunct - Wikipedia)
Ctrl + Shift + u, then 22C5 results in ⋅

One question … are you on a laptop? Some devices require you to also use the Fn key

Thank you @aggie , no I am on a desktop machine. I could answer myself moments later. Thank you again.
