kernel updates Oct 17

I picked up kernel updates for my laptop yesterday, so I’m now:
Linux 2.6.25.18-0.1-pae i686

Updates were listed too for my main box, as referred to in my sig. - But I didn’t run them as there was a conflict with the nVidia driver.
I see this AM, the kernel update has been removed.

Always a bit worrying when they do this. You would think a little more thought would go in to making sure packages were only added to the repo’s when they are ready?:open_mouth:

Hi
Updated this machine earlier today, no worries with the nvidia driver.
My 64bit machine runs SLED

I’m not showing that kernel update now in software management
it’s reverted back to 2.6.25.16-0.1

Hi
They are all on the mirror here;

So it seems.
I have the default update channel
Index of /update/11.0

I’ll probably just wait and see what happens. Though I was thinking of going back to the manual install of the nVidia driver, that way I’m not stuck with the repo ver.

Hi
I guess the mirrors haven’t mirrored back yet? I find the manual way
just easier, it’s just a bigger download for the source. But I need
the source as I have to patch the toshiba_acpi.c file to get the
bluetooth adaptor working

I noticed this update earlier as well, but since there was a conflict with Nvidia’s drivers, I decided to wait and see. I also couldn’t find anything until now on the forum about it. I’ve found it’s Usually a good idea to be on the more conservative side when it comes to kernel updates. There’s been some rocky ones!

That kernel-update got into the repositories by accident, it has been retracted meanwhile.
