Kernel updates and the Nvidia GT 730

I just installed an Nvidia GT 730, with the proprietary drivers (v. 470.256.02), on an old machine (i5 3740) running Tumblweed and XFCE4.
This is my first time using a dGPU. I’ve read warnings about kernel updates breaking the nvidia drivers. What’s the best way to avoid that?

Right now the plan is to do a system snapshot before a dup, and rollback if there’s an issue. I figure the GPU is so old the driver development is, at this point, pretty static.

Thanks

zypper does it automatically unless you removed or not installed snapper integration.

Nice. I was not aware of that. Looks like I have some reading to do now. I’ll look at the snapper.io tutorial and opensuse.org snapper portal.

Thank you

The openSUSE documentation (reference handbook) is also recommended.

Noted.

Thank you
