Kernel update errors

I just got this output on kernel update: OpenSuSe 11.1

I’m a bit afraid of rebooting right now.

Check in the software installer that you updated all kernel packages (should be, but just check to make sure). After that reboot. The complaints are from the kernel installer, it cannot find modules to load because they are not the running kernel’s but the new one’s. After a reboot running kernel and modules to load match and errors will be gone.

Good luck

So, it will be safe to reboot? I’m using RAID and the errors concerning RAID modules are scaring me.

I had this problem but not on raid, after a reboot I was dumped to a console
login and then issued a:

mkinitrd

to rebuiltd the init ramdisk and all was fine on next boot.

Now as you are on raid I am not sure what will happen, worst case is that
the machine just will not boot as the raid drivers will not get loaded, you
might be able to use a rescue disk with the modules on boot the system and
if that gets you to a prompt just issue the above command.

If that does not work then things could get tricky (er)
