Hi Tallguy,
Go in to YaST > Software Management, search for & install ;
kernel-sources
gcc
gcc++
make
After having installed this open a terminal, switch to root with ’ su - ’ and re-run ’ vmware-config.pl ’
That should set things straight.
Cheers,
Wj
Thanks you.I am updating the system now and I will try it later.
- tallguy,
install the package linux-kernel-headers or the kernel sources through Yast. You’ll also need “make” and “gcc”.
Uwe
Is the kernel-sources in the DVD?I can’t find the RMP.I had installed the kernel-default and kernel-header.
The vmware work!Thanks everyone!
No you do not need linux-kernel-headers for vmware.
Hi, thx, I had the same problem, SUSE 10.3 64bit, VMware workstation 6.5 new install.
I had linux-kernel-headers installed at the correct level but VMware config failed as per this form post, so seems you need source rpm
I Installed Linux-source rpm then all ok (not linux-sources !)
Cheers
