Kernel releases and Libre office

Why is Tumbleweed so far behind on the kernel releases and Libre Office updated to 7.2.1?

Why is Tumbleweed so far behind on the kernel releases

Tumbleweed has kernel 5.14…

But you can use kernel:stable…

and Libre Office updated to 7.2.1?

Maybe because of some patches? I do not know…
You can use the rpms from Libreoffice if you must use them.

My openSUSE Tumbleweed system (updated today):

Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210916
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.14.2-1-default (64-bit)

The latest kernel-release from kernel.org is version 5.14.6 so i wouldn’t call that “far behind” (if you are running any Android smartphone you might use a kernel version < 5).

However if you are missing something in kernel 5.14.2 that is provided in kernel 5.14.6 you could try kernel 5.14.5 from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ or even kernel 5.15 RC1 from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard. Probably one of them will serve your needs.
