Running Suse 11.2, I have a RAID-5 device mounted, and a straigt disk. I want to copy data from the straigt disk to the array, using several methods: with Dolphin, with cpio. Copying runs for some time, sometimes one or some files are copied indeed, but after a short time (sometimes half a minute, sometimes 10 minutes or more) I get a

and after that, copying stops, the copying mechanism does not come back, and I cannot even halt the system: shutdown halts the KDE-session gracefully, but then stops.

Hardware is Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P mobo, AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition (not OC-ed), 8 GB DDR3 memory from OCZ.
Any idea what tis might be, and how I can get it fixed?
