Kernel freeze if virtualbox running

I’m running openSUSE 12.1 (and Tumbleweed) without problems. But a few seconds after starting a Virtualbox Session (i.e. XP oder Win7) a lot of kernel error occure:

Some seconds later the system freezes. Does anybody know this problem?

I’m using virtualbox from this repo: Index of /repositories/Virtualization/openSUSE_12.1

this and all Tumbleweed post should be to the Tumbleweed forum,

but, to answer your question directly–everyone knows about it…i quote:

At this point there is no guarantee to have all additional modules
available in the stable release like for Vmware or Virtualbox. And while
the Packman Tumbleweed Essential repository attempts to deliver them
there is no guarantee they will always succeed due to the
incompatibilities with the quickly advancing Linux Kernel. The problems
with proprietary Graphics drivers are similar and there is no guarantee
they will work tomorrow, even if they do today. If you don’t know how to
compile your own additional kernel modules and you don’t wish to learn
or keep a very close eye on what is being updated, please don’t use
Tumbleweed. . .

openSUSE 11.4 supports VirtualBox. Due to it not being in the mainline
kernel and Tumbleweed routinely receiving kernel updates, it has been
decided not to support VirtualBox in the main Tumbleweed repo.

i think all you need to do is compile a VBox built on and for the kernel
you are using… (every time it changes)

OK, i was gone back to 12.1 (without Tumbleweed). Does openSUSE 12.1 support VirtualBox? Or should i go back to 11.4?

Anyway, i have the same problem in 12.1.

And even the same problem using this way:

as far as i know it does (but i’ve not read every post here about 12.1
and VBox)…

but, i guess you know the VirtualBox you run must match the kernel you
are running…so, if you have rolled back to the kernel shipping with
12.1, and have the VirtualBox available in the 12.1 oss repo it should
(as far as i know) “just work”…but, you can use something like the
following search string to see for yourself: http://tinyurl.com/cyqxbhd
