Kernel detects ScreenPad instead of display

My hardware is an ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 laptop with a ScreenPad (a horrible idea) and a main display that is hi res 3840x2160. On boot the kernel? decides the ScreenPad (1080x2160) is the display so i only get 32 character lines and a horribly tiny font. I couldn’t find anything in bios setup to disable the ScreenPad and I’m hoping it can be disabled somehow on the kernel boot command line or some other fix that gets me readable ‘full screen width’ kernel boot info lines
