This is quite confusing… I’ve been trying to install the latest 5.16 kernel. When going here
https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?package=kernel-default&project=openSUSE%3AFactory
And clicking the standard install button, it only installs the 5.15 kernel even though the resource says 5.16.
If I instead try to download the packages manually I’m met with a “Resource is no longer available!” -page.
Is it available or not? If not, why is it listed as available?
After searching some more I came across the “builds” at https://software.opensuse.org//download.html?project=Kernel%3Astable&package=kernel-default where it was possible to download teh 5.16 kernel. However, this one doesn’t boot because I don’t have the MOK key for it so I can’t get past secure boot… Any way to find out what the key is? or can I change it?
Also what’s the difference between the two downloads above?

Welcome to openSUSE and welcome to openSUSE forums !!
I do not know enough to answer most of your questions. I also do not know enough to advise if the 5.16 is good to use.
However in terms of booting from such a kernel (which may or may not be good to do), I struggled recently with a different kernel, and I was given help in this thread: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/560900-Help-on-booting-to-a-5-14-11-kernel-stable-backports-kernel-with-secure-boot-(or-must-I-disable)
Possibly there is something in that thread to help you secure boot from the kernel you choose.

Hi and welcome to the Forum
The Factory repository is very transient in nature, more of a snapshot staging area before a push to the Tumbleweed repositories and should not really be used.
Your better off to use the kernel:stable repository if really needed as this is the staging area before inclusion;

Thanks everyone for your responses. I gather that 5.16 is not ready for use and hasn’t actually been pushed to the repository so the information there is basically just incorrect.
I was able to boot with the 5.16 kernel build but several things don’t work for me. The MOK password is just the root password. I was informed in the build comments after asking the same question there.
So now it’s just to wait patiently for 5.16…
Hi
No, the 5.16.0 kernel was released yesterday…

My experience of the 5.16.0 kernel with Tumbleweed has been fine - both as an upgrade and new install.
