Kernel: config_ftrace warning when booting kernel-rt

Hei,

I receive this message when I boot into the rt-kernel (please look at the link):https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551747#c

I am a bit uncertain of how to proceed. Is it possible to change the debug and ftrace options in the config file (I presume this: /boot/config-my-rt-kernel) and all is good, or do I have to build a new kernel without those parameters enabled?

Cheers,
Olav

that bug entry says the problem you are having was fixed in December
last year for 11.2

you don’t say which OS version you are using, so i must assume it is
something before that fix and your uncertainty on how to proceed is
not so difficult to over come: just install a post-December fixed
kernel…you can use YaST to do that…

well, since you don’t say which version you are using, and maybe it is
9.0 let me first say: install 11.2 or later…

or, did i miss something?

Hello, sorry I should off course have said that I have the latest rt-kernel for OS 11.2. So the problem persists.

warning: i’m not a real guru, and absolutely have very little idea
about the real time kernels…

but if you are you using a “stock” RT kernel (from the install disk
or from an openSUSE repo), then it sounds like you need to start a new
bug, give the exact error, conditions to get the error, specify it is
an RT kernel and give its full name/version/etc, and reference the bug
that was “fixed”…

start here: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Submitting_Bug_Reports

well, you can wait and see if anyone else has an answer, or better
idea…

[you have googled, right??]

Thanks,
It is the rt-kernel from the official update repo.

Will consider what to do, read a bit more I guess and submit it as a bug if so is the conclusion.
