Hi, I’d like to try out Kernel 7 on Tumbleweed but it’s been many years since I’ve compiled the kernel from source. Is there an easy way to do this on Tumbleweed or do I have to compile it?
Thanks

Wait and Tumbleweed will get the kernel as Update.
Do you know roughly when? I’ve noticed some lagging on one of my hard drives. There’s nothing wrong with the drive but I see that kernel 7 has some EXT4 performance improvements so I thought I would give it a try.
No, I do not, but it is in kernel:stable.
If you want it earlier, try that Repo.
But all prcompiled “driver” for Tumbleweed (nvidia, virtualbox and and) do not work with this kernel.
