JFYI: Kernel version 7.1.8 is on its way to Tumbleweed (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1370434).
Does kernel 7.1.8 from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ solve the issue described here?
no graphic glitches anymore. for me, problem solved.
canāt edit my post above so:
but still see kwin_wayland[1412]: atomic commit failed: Device or resource busy in journal but donāt notice any lag or glitches.
okay the latest snapshot 20260809 released! donāt include 7.1.8. The fix is in 7.1.8.
When i download 7.1.8 from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/x86_64/kernel-default-7.1.8-3.1.gc1ba32a.x86_64.rpm
sudo zypper install kernel-default-7.1.8-3.1.gc1ba32a.x86_64.rpm
'kernel-default-7.1.8-3.1.gc1ba32a.x86_64.rpm' looks like an RPM file. Will try to use it.

Kernel 7.1.8 is in snapshot 20260812
Itās maybe to early to say, but this snapshot with kernel 7.1.8 appears to have fixed the issue, at least for me. Iāll mark as solution after further testing.
Kernel 7.1.8 seems to have fixed the graphical glitches for me too (running for a few hours now).
Unfortunately the brightness issue is still there so that seems a separate bug (havenāt found any info on it yet)ā¦
Regarding your brightness issue mentioned in Kernel 7.1.6 causing graphical glitching on 9070/9060 GPU - #2 by sevens, a fix has recently been sent upstream: https://lore.kernel.org/stable/20260812144901.2154412-1-alexander.deucher@amd.com/T/#u. Presumably part of kernel 7.2.1. As a workaround, for the time being, try adding amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x40000to the kernel command line.
I have to clarify that the aforementioned fix is for the 7.1.x series only, kernel 7.2 should work just fine.
