kernel 3.9.0-6-desktop breaks tvtime, almost

after updating to the latest Tumbleweed, the following output is given on
attempts to shut down,
this only occurs after tvtime has been run

also once tvtime has been closed it is not possible to re-run the program
without rebooting

any comments on how to proceed will be appreciated

cheers

the above failures only seem to occur when tvtime and mtt (in package motv)
are used together

so possibly its a memory cache problem???

Use “advanced” menu from boot and boot to older kernel

thx for the response

with the old kernel the output is longer but the effects the same,

before with the old kernel the problem was not present

problems only started with the Tumbleweed update

now with the new and old kernel, once tvtime and mtt have been run
its also impossible to shut down the os (and sometimes the system just crashes)
pulling the plug is the only way to restart

the problem seems to be Tumbleweed related, not kernel

cheers

@ vazhavandan

re-installed 13-05-09 <16:00:05>
kernel 3.7.10-1.4-desktop

with this kernel tvtime and mtt are rock-solid,
multiple starts and stops and re-boots are without problems

hence it’s a kernel 3.9.0-X-desktop anomaly

on old installs there was never a problem with
kernels 3.8.0-2-desktop thru’ 3.8.9-1-desktop

thx again

Desktop KDE 4.10.3, openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64)
AMD Phenom II X4 940, ATI RS780 [Radeon HD 3200]

So TW has shipped more than 3 kernels already ? openSUSE 12.3 is configures to retain 3 kernel versions by default

updated 13-05-10 <09:53:08> to
kernel 3.9.1-1.gb6484b6-desktop

problem effects identical

still no problems with kernel 3.7.10-1.4-desktop
