again the kernel was updated without any amd driver problems
after updating the kernel, the only noticeable effect wrt the driver was the
re-boot took ~20 seconds longer than usual to initialise
no fglrx re-install was necessary — all happened automatically
the driver, installed from depos
‘http://geeko.ioda.net:80/mirror/amd-fglrx-legacy/openSUSE_12.2/’
is highly recommended
the install is rock solid
