Kernel 2.6.28 and some problems

I setup and compiled newest kernel 2.6.28
What I didn’t know for sure, I put as module and followed help “when in doubt” turning on or off as was recommended.

After making modules and install, it was booting ok until it reached “starting powersave” where it hanged.

How to overcome the problem? Should I deselect APM or something else?
I have Asus pro50 laptip, core2, 2 GB Ram, opensuse 11.0

update:
I have switched off apm and now it boots.

However, there are few issues:

  1. Apparmor does not start, fails on boot

  2. init 3 cannot start as it hangs on avahi dns. Init 5 works ok.

  3. for unknown reason, every time it boots, it decrese lightness of display on half?!?!?! It was the same before I installed ATI driver and after a driver. Everything else seems to work fine. for now.

Any ideas?
