I use an application that relies on Kermit/Termcap for telnet communications. If there will no longer be support for these applications, what will be supported for the long term?

Had a look at the software repos; termcap is included in the 11.2
standard repos, and ckermit is available from a couple of third party
repos - that might meet your needs.
Any reason why those options might not work? Looks like C-Kermit 8.0 is
the current Linux version, so should meet your needs, no?
