I’m using KDM (4.7.3) to login and I just wondered how kdm creates the
session list.
As fare as I know, the list is generated from *.desktop files. in
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/sessions/, /usr/share/xsession/ and
/etc/X11/sessions.
Kdm shows kde sessions (default and failsafe), icewm and the default twm
session. Since I have icewm and of course kde these entries are okay.
However, kdm has 3 additional entries: Default, User defined (not 100% about
the english translation) and Failsafe.
Those sessions don’t work. Looks like Exec is not defined in the
corresponding .desktop files. I don’t need them, but I can’t find the
…desktop that are responsible for those entries.
The sessions dir variable is not set in kdmrc.
