Hi all.
I’m having a strange problem in logging into our Suse here at work. kdeinit goes defunct when I try to log in. Strangely, it doesn’t affect other users in the same network (just me), and also I can log remotely by ssh. The problem only happens when I try to connect with interface.
Already tried to rename the .kde directory to other name, in such a way that a new login would need to create a new one. I’ve done a killall -u username before logging on the machine again, and it actually created a new one, but still fails in the exact same point.
Also, the /var/log/messages file shows the following error when I try to login with interface:
May 28 16:26:04 vader resmgr[2927]: rejected connection from uid 0/gid 505: group doesn’t exist
May 28 16:26:04 vader kdm: :0[2512]: resmgr: communication failure: Connection reset by peer
May 28 16:26:04 vader kdm: :0[2512]: pam_resmgr: resmgr login failed
I was traveling, and before that everything used to go smoothly. We had an electrical failure in the meanwhile and my user was logged in when it happened, but I’m not sure it’s of any concern to the problem.
Anybody has any idea of the possible reason for these errors?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help on this.
