Kdenlive crashing - sdl2_audio ] Failed to initialize SDL: Audio target 'pulse' not available"

I removed that line, and rebooted my pc.

Mame has sound, so thats fine.
For LMMS, I again had to go into the setting, but after this sound in LMMS is fine.
Also tried anther noise making program, QMMP and that worked too.

So as far as I can tell removing that line is a good fix.

Thank you.

After yesterdays update, I had to remove that line again, to have sound in MAME.

Also reported that here:

https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/914222

The file /etc/profile.d/pulseaudio.sh is maintained by the setup-pulseaudio script, so your changes get lost whenever that script is run.
And it might get run during updates, at least when the pulseaudio package is updated (maybe others too).

The latest Tumbleweed snapshot still has the “old” version that adds ‘export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=“alsa”’ though, but when the fix is in this shouldn’t happen again (actually, it should remove an “export SDL_AUDIODRIVER=xxx” line then if it exists).

No need to report that there, this is a request to add the fix to Tumbleweed and it has not been accepted yet (it’s still under review).

Thank you, should I have reported this some were else ?

No.
It’s clear that the problem is not gone yet as long as the update with the fix is not available…

Confirmed fix, edited file and restarted and it worked again.

Yes, it worked

The latest Tumbleweed snapshot (20210827, released a couple of hours ago) contains the (pulseaudio) update with the fix for this problem:

- Drop SDL_AUDIODRIVER override, as SDL already prefers PA as
default; this also fixes the recent breakage with SDL2 (bsc#1189778)

So manual intervention should no longer be necessary.

Happy user here.

After today’s update, sound in MAME (and LMMS), still working.

Thanks everyone, with the last update, the problem was solved
lol!
