Kdeconnect - what is this firewall "Services" tab of which you speak?

Can’t get kdeconnect to see any devices with the kdeconnect app.

I have the firewall set to add kdeconnect to the “public” domain, however, the online documentation makes reference to a “Services” tab which doesn’t appear to exist:

https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:KDE_Connect

And the terminal command of:
sudo firewall-cmd --zone=public --permanent --add-service=kdeconnect-kde
fails because no such service is running.

What am i missing?

I guess I’m using a different openSUSE , as I have a Services tab.

ah, cheers. no, just me being an idiot.

still confused as to why i can’t see phone listed in kdeconnect.

Personal Experience.
I found that the order of startup was critical to my use of kdeconnect. I first needed to start kdeconnect on my Leap 15.5 machine and only then on my android phone. Once the desktop was up and “signalling” its name the phone could find the desktop. Be sure to “allow” whichever asks for permission to connect.

It is important that you use the correct zone (the zone your pc is connected to) and it is probably not the public zone.
Open the firewall settings in YAST2 and you can see the zone you are using for your connection. In my case I use the eth0 to connect to the internet and the zone is internal.

thank you all.

for reasons i don’t understand removing my phone from the kdeconnect client on the laptop, and then re-enrolling it caused the problem to vanish. it now connects as it should.
