It appears the community repo has been updated twice while the desktop repo hasn’t which means the latest rpm’s from community will not install, attempting to install them gives the error “>= 4.165 is needed by _______”.
This seems to be something that’s happened occasionally the past month or 2.
Is it possible to have an answer?
The problem is not that the KDE4 unstable repository is not updated but it’s to know why.
Are there a place (website, mailing list, forum, …) where to have information?
thanks in advance!

I posted to irc the question and was told the focus was on “factory” because it will be part of 11.1 release so I downgraded to it. No idea why the disconnect with the “unstable” repo’s as that’s just bad management on someones part.
PS - there is an Amarok in the “factory extra-apps” repo unlike “unstable”

the problem with irc’s is that there’s multiple conversations going on simultaneously so you may not get an answer (sometimes it helps to re-ask the q after an hour or more hoping someone new joins the channel). The advantage is if you get an answer its immediate and you can ask followups, also there may be developers on the channel but if you need to make changes to your system to test the answer the original responder could be gone by the time you get back.
the advantage to forums and lists is that the questions/comments are there over time for people to read, search for, comment on and discuss
