KDE4 - move panel to top of screen?

Is it possible to move the KDE(4) panel from the bottom to the top of one’s screen?

I’ve looked/searched for answers here and there, tried several things w/no success… Maybe the answer is: no can do. Not sure.

I can move a Gnome panel w/ease.

Yes it can be moved. Un-lock widgets, right click on panel/panel options/panel settings. Then drag screen edge to the top.

When I tried your suggestion, I got this:

The application Plasma Workspace (plasma) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).
Please help us improve the software you use by filing a report at http://bugs.kde.org. Useful details include how to reproduce the error, documents that were loaded, etc

And the procedure to simply move the panel, seems a tad complicated imo.

I’ll send in a report on this as suggested in the error message.

Other observations noticed after attempt/s to move panel. System tray “moved” to the left and now takes up about half of the panel. Can’t move or shrink it back to its original size. Clock also “moved” left and is bigger now. Ditto on the move and shrink. When I minimize things now, they don’t seem to move to the panel, they simply disappear.

I rebooted to maybe reset things. Same behavior as above. I guess I’ll have more to write in the report.

Sorry it didn’t work. That’s how I moved mine. I use kde3 mostly and play around with kde4 until it gets to my liking, then I’ll change.

Which version of KDE4? Sounds like 4.0.
If it is an older version search around for the way to update to the latest.
You’ll have a lot less problems.

KDE 4.2 release 102. Latest updates (mostly).

Make sure in your repo’s your using the 11.1 repos not the factory repo’s i had to revert to the 11.1 from the factory cause of plasma crashes alot heres the ones i use so compare yours with these
