KDE4.6 has Release repository

Its here ‘http://download.opensuse.org:80/repositories/KDE:/Release:/46/openSUSE_11.3/

Obviously, due to dependencies,
version 11.4-82.2 of
kdebase4-runtime-branding-openSUSE
kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE
kdelibs4-branding-openSUSE
kdm-branding-openSUSE
will not install.

64bit version works great for me.

Only hic-cup noticed is mouse cursor theme seems inconsistent after reboot unless Oxygen White or Black selected.

I have KDE 4.6 . I installed it last week the factory repository.

1)Remove any old KDE:KDE4:* repositories and KDE:Qt* repositories, you can do this by opening up YaST and navigating to “Software Repositories”.

  1. Add the repository
# zypper addrepo -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/openSUSE_11.3 KDE45

3)Add the Extra repository (optional):

# zypper addrepo -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_11.3_KDE_Distro_Factory KDE-Extra
  1. Upgrade all packages from KDE:Distro:Factory and KDE:Extra:
# zypper dup --from KDE45 --from KDE-Extra
  1. If you are using knetworkmanager, replace it with the Network Management plasmoid due to a bug in KNM with 4.5.0 that hides all connections, before you upgrade or you may be stuck without a connection; allow zypper to deinstall NetworkManager-kde4.
# zypper install plasmoid-networkmanagement
  1. Close terminal and reboot.

Hi stamostolias,

Yesterday its – Release repo

Michael

R46 is now on the KDE repositories wiki page:
KDE repositories - openSUSE

How I upgrade: Just add the Core and Extra repos for 11.3 and switch packages to those repos in YaST.

Hi,

An example of how to switch packages in repo : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10573557/Switcher%20Pics/package%20switch%20kde.png
