Not in the factory repos I’m using. Presumably I’m only using the bleeding-
edge repos whereas you’re on the bleeding-buckets-edge.

Nice, any problems with that version ;)??
Sweet.
I still have this problem with fish:// in Dolphin and have to use kde3’s K which works perfectly. But I am not alone I know.
I’m just loving it.
Had a quick blast on most of my apps, all seems well.
Taking the plunge right now I may take another hit on 11.2 since it should work with LVM now

All very nice but doesn’t address my point. I’m using the @official@ 4.3
factory repos - or what I believed to be the case - and am still on RC1. I
suspect I’ll pick them up soon though. I wonder if anyone testing 4.3 is
using the same set of repos as anyone else? I’ve also had to drag a couple
of items from other repos - including 11.1 - in order to get things working.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what the ‘AT’ symbols are doing, they’re meant
to be double-quotes and that’s another problem I’ll bring up elsewhere - if
I don’t fix it first.

@ means you have US keyboard in settings but use a UK keyboard

I’d guessed it was something like that but couldn’t figure out how to alter
the keyboard settings now that SAX2 doesn’t do it. Since updating to 11.2
M3, SAX2 only deals with monitor, tablet and touchscreen. Sax2 version is
8.1-575.1.

Seems like not everything has been updated yet to RC2 though… I see a lot of 4.2.95 version numbers hanging around. Zypper also suggests a dependcy hell.
I’ve nowhere seen an announcement of RC2 though, not even in the KDE fora. Has it been released yet, or are we in this tagging grey zone that Aaron Seigo blogged about two weeks ago?

Depends what repos you are using. I’m using those listed at
http://en.opensuse.org/KDE/Repositories#KDE_Factory_Development_.28KDE_4.3_RC_1_.2B_Patches.29
and RC2 hasn’t been put on them yet so all mine are 4.2.95 or earlier.

Did a fresh installation of 11.2-M3-KDE4.3_RC1 and double-checked that
keyboard was accepted as UK at the start. Made no difference but I fixed the
problem by hitting “caps” button twice. Can’t imagine why I didn’t think of
that before!

No packages for Factory. RC2 is indeed not built completely. kdebase4 packages are partly 4.2.95, partly 4.2.96. For me 'Starting new session" does not work. Which is not too bad 2 days before holidays, but normally there’s always three concurrent sessions running. Not possible now.
About anouncements: I’ve been using (open)SUSE for years now and got used to it. Many times I already had the new KDE up and running for hours/days before an official announcement was made on kde.org
I don’t know if you guys noticed that many kde4 related packages are still named kde4-****** (from the factory repo) which creates a lot of problems when using also the KDE 4 Factory repo?
Or did that scheme got with the advent of RC1?

Which factory are you getting these from?

You just have to be careful which action to take - replace the kde4.****
versions with the **** ones - when YAST warns about conflicts. And the
choices aren’t always in the same order so selecting the second radio button
each time is not a good idea.

Still only 4.2.95 available on the 4.3 Factory repositories. Maybe tomorrow?
