KDE4.3 Application Name changes

There have been some more name changes implemented, removing the (kde4-) prefix.

Here is a list from my log. It may be more comprehensive than this, as this just represents apps already installed on my sys, and which were showing red in software management - with no alternate install source other than 4.1.3 ver.

A load more name changes - I’m not going to list them it’s as long as my arm and rather confusing as it’s all mixed up with a load of updates in the log file.

But I can tell you it was kind of time consuming.

If you don’t know what I mean. Open Yast Software Management and filter by repo - Look at System - See all the RED packages…
Get switching

…so what’s your advice?

I noticed this when using SUSE Studio. Makes for a heck of a time getting dependencies sorted out!

Just did a refresh all enabled then an update all and the only change I had was kde4-konqueror was deleted and replaced with konqueror. The rest must have changed the last time I updated as I didn’t even notice they changed until I used SUSE Studio.

OK.
Very easy, new apps removed old ones.

Tnx.

You need to be prepared for just about anything once you go down the testing route.

Easy enough, as you say, just fiddly - I had to swap back and forth between system and kde4-factory when filter by repo, just to make sure.*

Me too, back and forth.

Bye!
