While we prepare the KDE 4.2.1 packages, we have disabled publishing the built packages on the KDE 4.2 repo and its dependencies:
KDE:KDE4:Factory desktop, KDE:KDE4:Factory:Extra-Apps,
and the KDE:KDE4:Community repos that build vs F.D.
This means you won’t see any updates on those repos for a few days. The planned release date for 4.2.1 is March 4 2009.
Does this have any effect on the Qt45 repo?
The best answer is go to that web KDE Community Forums , ask them directly and I`m just saying nicely way to you.
They can tell you because the build KDE.

In Qt45 packages now have 4.5 numbering, sould be final. Will keep you all posted

After the next online-update you do not need any Qt repo for 11.1 + KDE 4.2

Anyway. My updates finished, had to run a second time to pick up about 5 packages. But all seems really nice.
Took a look in software-installer, as well as repos: I see packages in Qt and Qt45 are resp 4.5…43 and 4.5…44, anyway 4.5 packages. On my laptop the overall performance has increased, and not just a bit.
Performance is wonderful, smooth running desktop. Better and better
ah, it works now, just had to reboot first.

Why is this updated:

and this not:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_Factory
What’s the difference?

The second you quote is used I think in the development version of openSUSE (to be 11.2)
I’m thoroughly confused, I want to install the KDE 4.2.1 desktop, can someone tell me how to do it please?
I currently have only KDE 3.5 on my system, and would appreciate a simple 1-click solution.

I would not do oneclick myself
add the repo’s
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.1
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE4_Factory_Desktop
optional
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/openSUSE_11.1
Then check kde4desktop and base in yast Software Management - Patterns
Don’t apply yet
Now filter by repo and go to the new desktopkde4 repo
and do update all in this list unconditionally
check the other two, but there is probably nothing in there yet.
