Can anyone explain the difference between the
KDE4:UNSTABLE:/openSUSE_Factory & KDE4:/UNSTABLE:/openSUSE11.1 directories.
Which would be the preferred directories to be using on a non-production
machine.

factory = 4.1.3
unstable = 4.2beta
definitely go with unstable, it stable and more featured than 4.1.x
Suse 11.0 x64, Kde 4.2beta (unstable repo), Opera 9.x weekly

Thanks for the info, they both seem to be showing 4.1.87 which I thought was
4.2 Beta. If I point to these (openSUSE11.1) directories and use zypper dup.
It only picks up certain files and complains of kdebase4-runtime amongst
others not being compatible. What am I doing wrong

To clear things up a bit: openSUSE_Factory is not the same as KDE4:/Factory. The former refers to openSUSE version while the latter to KDE version. So the first repository you mention is intended for use with openSUSE 11.2 alpha, beta, etc.
Has anyone encountered the problem where the screen goes blank when you click on the application launcher (green button on the left of the panel) after upgrading to 4.2 beta? Any idea how to resolve it?
Thanks.
