KDE3 on openSUSE upcoming versions

Just looked for openSUSE 12.3 there are KDE3 packages, is great off coarse
anyone know how long openSUSE will make KDE3 packages in the futher?

I’m just using Amarok 1.4.x of the KDE3 repo, amarok 2 and clementine are not my thing.

you do realize that “openSUSE” in that question is a small group of
enthusiast who have been doing the work so far…who knows when they
stop? you might ask the ones doing the work–they might have a better
understanding of how much longer they will be willing to do the work…

and, they might be pleased if you offer to help…

there is contact info on them here: http://en.opensuse.org/KDE3

That is nice to hear.

I am using KDE-PIM applications (Kontact, Kmail, Kaddressbook, …) from KDE 3 on my openSUSE 12.2 KDE 4 system.
I know this is a dead alley some time in the future, but I hope that those programs then recovered enough from their redesign to be usable again.

Same happend btw to me with Amorok. In the beginning Amorok 2 lacked a lot of the features I though to be crucial. But later it recovered and I use it since a considerable time now.

We should all help more, but was that really the point of his question?*

We hope you meant future.

Urban Dictionary: futher :shame:

no.

but, i believe i answered his question the best i could, and maybe the
best anyone could (directing him to the folks who DO the work, AND might
have a real answer to the question)…

ok?

and, then i threw in “they might be pleased if you offer to help”…
do you think that is a problem?

maybe you wish to provide a better answer? if so, please proceed.

I believe DD answer was very complete an adequate, for the question asked.

I don’t think there is a higher degree (as in “very”) than just “complete”.

Personally I dont think Clementine is that bad, heck its my preferred player as it does resemble the old amarok enough for me to like it
