Hi,
I lost my taskbar after installing Suse 11.0. Someone suggested I perform a rightclick on the desktop, choose ‘Create link’ -> ‘To new application’, and fill in kde3. Next I clicked the new button, and I got the message:
Service
/home/<account>/Desktop/kde3.desktop is malformatted
Anyone know how I can get my taskbar back?
Abel
(PS: Alt-F2 kicker does not work on my system)
if you have kde4 installed too or gnome login with that
nav to you hidden files in your user account
find .kde
and rename to .kdeold
now login with kde3
you can bring back all your settings if you like with the ones you want from the .kdeold folder
Thanks for your answer.
How would I know what version I use of kde?
How do I accomplish that? I tried opening my home directory with Konqueror, but found no hidden files. I tried to change my view, but had no luck in finding the hidden files. The only way I currently can change anything is by using either Alt-F2 or My Computer.
That is something I surely would like to try out. But I’m a bit at a loss. Searching is at the moment also a challenge, as my screen refreshing does not work. But that is a problem to be solved in another thread, later.
