If you can still see the widgets icon in the top right corner you should
be able to add a menu bar from there…or have you managed
to sort the problem yourself yet?

Or, if all else fails, create a new account and delete your old one.

I had this happen to me too, a while back. I was trying to switch over
to the tradition KDE menu button and I accidentally clicked “Remove K
Menu Button”.

I discovered that you can’t do anything on your system once the button
is gone. It’s one of the worst things you can do to your system to make
it essentially useless, and I have no idea why anyone would want to.

I wound up doing a complete reinstall because of this minor mistake,
but hopefully you will be able to avoid this.

Developers. please fix this.

In the ideal world ‘foresthill’ you can just add a new one. But it
doesn’t work very well. Not at all really.

Kde3 is fine. But 4 is a problem. I now keep a backup of my .kde4

You missunderstood me, or I didn’t explain myself very well. I was
talking about adding a new panel and or other widgets. Not about adding
a new account.

What you describe ‘foresthill’ is a good solution, I agree.
