KDE will freeze if try to move fole from Desktop

Hello all.

If I will try to move file from Desktop to another destination by RIGHT CLICK on file and MOVE TO and then I will choose the option BROWSE… (because network destination) the KDE session will become completely freeze. I can only use CTR ALT DEL to logout out and make new session. This situation happens always.

I have Leap 15.1 with all regular updates. Could you help me somebody please? Thank you in advance.

AFAICS, this isn’t a default KDE Plasma behaviour – “move” as such, only occurs with “Drag-and-Drop” …

  • Are you using another File Manager? – something other than “Dolphin”?

LEAP 15.1, KDE, Dolphin.
Right click on a file opens the context menu, there is a Move To there. Hovering over it opens a second menu with
Home Folder >
Root Folder >
Browse

Clicking Browse gives a Select Folder - Dolphin Window.
I choose a folder there and the file was moved.

So I think the description is correct, byt the freezing does not occur here.
(and I moved it back in the same way).

BUT, it is not a “network destination”, whatever that may be.

I found solution. Complete KDE is freeze, but if I press ALT+TAB it will show the dialog for choose the destination
Thank you for comments.

Thanks for reporting back, but rather report this at bugs.kde.org , this to me definitely looks like a bug.

That suggests that it is actually working correctly, except that the menu is hidden behind something else. So maybe KDE isn’t actually freezing. Rather, it is waiting for you to do something in that menu.

I have my desktop configured for “focus follows mouse”. And that sometimes causes menus to show up where it is hard to find them.
