Hello I couldn’t find any solution after my Google searches… I am using openSUSE 11.2 KDE. All of the three providers in the Weather applet can’t find my city İstanbul. I remember them finding it in some previous versions of KDE… They can’t even find other major cities in Europe like Paris etc. Any way to fix this? Thanks.
There was a change in the BBC weather service and the default does no longer work but it can be fixed I think.
Do a search for BBC weather on this board.
weather.yahoo works with Istanbul too.
Okay I found something in Ubuntu forums. I’ll try it later today
Also, how can I add yahoo as a provider?
I’m posting this with the assumption that you’re running KDE SC 4.3.x. I believe the answer you’re looking for is here: Ubuntu Forums - View Single Post - [Kde] Weather Plasma Widget not finding your city?. Even though the info is on the Ubuntu Forums page, it’s still applicable to you because it’s KDE-related. The only thing to watch out for is the step about the “~/.kde” folder. Ours (opensuse) is called “~/.kde4”
Hope this is helpful.
Thanks! That worked
