Hi

I have damaged the setup for the screen parameters in KDE. I was adjusting Config Desktop → Display Configuration and obviously made a bad choice because the screen went black. Now when I boot back in I get a fine screen during the boot process but a zero screen after I log in. I assume I can get back to basics be deleting stuff in /home/john/.kde4, but don’t know the files in there. I don’t want to arbitrarily zero/delete too many files in /home/john/.kde4 because there are many settings there that I want to keep.

Which file/s should I delete or edit to achieve a visible screen on login?

The monitor configuration files are in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kscreen/ (one file per monitor).
Just delete the whole directory to switch back to the defaults.
