KDE unable to change display configuration from 800x600

Just installed Leap 15.2 with KDE.
Trying to use Display Configuration in System Settings.
Changing the Resolution from 800x600 to any other value flashs the new screen size (e.g. 1680x1050) and then immediately drops back to 800x600.

Not sure this is a KDE issue but need to find the configuration files to allow this change.

Using a Matrox M9148 LP PCIex16 four port graphics card along with
KDE 5.18.6, KDE Framwork 5.71.0, Qt 5.12.7, Kernel 5.3.18-lp152.63.
All this is running in VirtualBox on a Windows 7.

Thanks is advance for any assistance,

Please post:

/sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -EiA3 'display|3d|vga'

Also:

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Do you install the guest-additions in openSUSE?

Because Virtualbox is only presenting virtual hardware, not the real hardware.

I have now installed the guest-additions.
Shutdown
Close VirtualBox

Restarted VirtualBox and openSUSE VM.

I still get a 2 second flash of the window size I expect, but it immediately returns to the 800x600 size.

But thanks for the info…

Change video from VMSVGA to VBoxSVGA in the VirtualBox manager - VMSVGA does not allow resize for some reason.

Vbox will grip that the config is wrong but it will work.
