I would like to use the default KDE wallpaper but it appears to be absent from the opensuse packages. I’m using KDE sc 4.4 from the factory repo on opensuse 11.2. Is there a way to get the wallpaper back?
See if the wallpaper packages all have been installed. To rebuild the appearance of your desktop completely (which is a good thing to do when upgrading to 4.4):
Logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1
login with username and password, and do:
rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*
Hit Ctrl-D to logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F7 to return to graphic login screen
Login
and you should have the standard desktop in front of you, with all application settings kept.
you need to replace the workspace opensuse branding rpm with the workspace branding ‘upstream’ rpm
