Kde problem resume after suspension

Hi, i’m using from a couple of day OpenSuse 13.1 Kde, i’ve discovered a strange issue with the resume after the system suspension, because as soon as i active the system again, pushing a bottom, it gives me just the default wallpaper of Suse and nothing more, so i can’t insert my password to give back the working session. I must kill down the PC or with Ctrl-Alt-Canc i can kill the session.
I’ve read online that this bug could be linked to the KDM theme used, so i’ve tried to change it into Horos or Elarun one, but they aren’t working: i have a black corner surrounding the password field on KDM and its splashscreen is the same of the default theme.
Why and how can i fix this trouble?

Regards, Marco

Sorry for not replying earlier, I somehow missed your post.

Please see here f.e.: http://forums.opensuse.org/showthrea...ep-can-t-login

The packages in KDE:Distro:Factory and KDE:Current should have this issue fixed since today.

Here’s a bug report where you can find fixed packages for standard 13.1 to test:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=864305

first of all the first link is dead. triggers the “object not found” page.
second I have same/similar issue on my laptop.
I tough it was related to my video driver problem, as it seams I am not able to install proper nVidia driver on my system (still working on it.), but maybe not.

in my case most of the time my screen simply stay black and not responsive at all.
some times I get the wallpaper with nothing and system is not responsive. have to hard boot via power button.

I have all updates and all. and had this issue even with LXDE desktop not only KDE.

…me too, my panels doesn’t respond to click to launch kicker or other program launcher or on pager to change desktop, screen seems ok but also doesn’t respond to rightclick, keyboard commands to change desktop works… now I uninstalled nvidia drivers and will try again…

after uninstalled nvidia drivers it happens again, I tried to run kded4 and it was already running, tried also kbuildsycoca4 and run ok then I run plasma-desktop but the command hunged there and didn’t finished also waiting 15minutes,
this happen in opensuse 13.1 kde4.10.5 and don’t happen in 12.3…
could be any way to solve??
manythanks  ciao  pier

Sorry, something went wrong with copy/paste.

No you don’t.
The original post clearly states that he is getting the default wallpaper after resume.
And if you read the bug report, you would know that this is because KDE doesn’t show the password dialog, and would also know how to workaround that problem.

Yes, probably.
But I thought you actually have the nvidia driver working now?

But please open a new thread for that (if you haven’t done so already) as this is completely off-topic here.

Again, the mentioned problem is NOT an unresponsive system, but a locked screen that you cannot unlock because no password input dialog is shown.

I have all updates and all. and had this issue even with LXDE desktop not only KDE.

That’s another indication that you have a completely different problem.

And this is a completely different problem as well.

You don’t have to run kded4. It is started automatically when you login, and has nothing to do with plasma-desktop anyway.

tried also kbuildsycoca4 and run ok then I run plasma-desktop but the command hunged there and didn’t finished also waiting 15minutes,

Please open a new thread with your issue as well.

But it seems in your case plasma-desktop is hanging.
Try with a new user, maybe some plasmoid you added is causing this.
