When the lock screen activates and I enter password again, all windows forget their positions. On a multimonitor with lots of arranged screen spaces this is extremely annoying.
Does not happen with Plasma without Wayland.

I haven’t actually tried that. However Plasma Wayland, when it restores a saves session on login, does not position the windows correctly. You are probably seeing another instance of that same problem.
I guess it is a limitation of Plasma Wayland, which seems to still be a work in progress. I normally use X11, because I am not satisfied with Plasma Wayland. By contrast, Gnome Wayland works very well.
