KDE Plasma Dolphin file manager freeze right after "compress to..."

When I right-click on a file, or folder, and selecting “compress to…” in order to have a specific compression level (or other compressed option than .zip and .tar.gz) the entire file manager freeze, then I have to force quit the application via System Monitor.

Dolphin version: 23.08.4-1.1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.114.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12
Kernel Version: 6.7.1-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11

Any tips?

The only difference between our configs is I’m running kernel 6.7.2-1 (I doubt that makes a difference).

I tried both a .zip and .tar.gz, and no issue … I can also open both up no problem.

Maybe launch Dolphin from the command line, then compress, and see if an error shows up.

Another option would be to log in as another user (create one?), then test there

Hi, thank you for your suggestions.
I’ve also updated to the latest kernel available right now, but unfortunately none of them works. I tried to make a side by side comparison between Dolphin and Thunar (the old one I used to work with) and there is no much difference in terms of compression with the .zip. I guess I’ll stick to Dolphin without using the additional option that cause the freeze because it has the recovering session if a crash occurs anyway. Thunar crashes rarely, but there is no recover feature from the last accessed path, that’s why I’m switching to an overall better file manager.
