This is my first post in this forum so go easy on me. I have been enjoying my newly installed openSuse installation for the past two weeks. I used it to run on a free computer I received so I didn’t have to purchase that other operating system. It has come a long way since my last tinkering with linux/unix in college 12 years ago!
I think that I noticed a problem with the calendar widget 1.0. When you change the month, the days don’t update in the calendar.
Hello skihiker and welcome to the openSUSE forums!
I think that I noticed a problem with the calendar widget 1.0. When you change the month, the days don’t update in the calendar.
So I guess I am not seeing this problem. I have KDE 4.4.4 “release 3” installed with openSUSE 11.3. Did you do an update to openSUSE after the installation? So let me say that when I move from February to March in the KDE widget called Calendar, the days at the top stay fixed, the month start date moves to the correct day location and the date remains on the sixth, for instance, of that month. It seems to be correct, but perhaps I am missing something.
I suggest that first, you might want to update your setup (YaST / Software / Software Management) as bugs do exist in the original load, though I was not aware of a problem with the Calendar widget. Next, put together a sequence of events to reproduce your problem. Normally, with an older version of KDE, such issues have long been addressed, but you never know and anyone can report a bug.
It works now. I don’t know why it didn’t work. Or why it is fixed. Thanks for the help on the updates.
So much to learn, so many places to look. Your (YaST / Software / Software Management) update tip was all I needed. Thanks.
You are very welcome skihiker. If you have any other issues you need help with, please just ask.

Ok, I just accidentally recreated the problem. Tell me if you see this too.
If you change the month when you are looking at the calender directly on the desktop everything works normal.
When you change the month when you are looking at the calendar by bringing it to the front in the plasma dashboard by clicking on the plasma dashboard button to the right of the application launcher in the lower left corner of the screen, the days don’t change when you advance the month and it doesn’t work.
