KDE Plasma app - KSysGuard - unmaintained, Archived

On the KDE Discuss Forum, there’s an “Ideas to makes KDE plasma better and efficient” Brainstorming discussion which mentions that –

ksysguard is unmaintained and should stop being shipped in distributions (by default)

Checking the openSUSE Build Service, nothing much has happened with the package since about a year or so – only a stability patch – <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/KDE:Frameworks5/ksysguard5>

The GitHub repository is also quiet about this issue: <https://github.com/KDE/ksysguard>

But, the KDE folks are quite explicit: <https://invent.kde.org/plasma/ksysguard>

Archived project! Repository and other project resources are read-only

KDE Apps: <https://apps.kde.org/ksysguard/>

This app is unmaintained and no longer released by the KDE community.

Does anyone happen to know if, there are any plans to move the “ksysguard5” package to a “No longer maintained but, possibly useable” repository?

On TW I’ve been seeing ksysguard5 show up in output from

zypper pa --unneeded

so I’ve been removing it.

Here on Leap 15.5, it’s not showing up – yet – in the “unneeded” list of packages …

At the official webpage

Here on Leap 15.5, I’ve pre-empted any Distribution decisions and, removed KSysGuard … :upside_down_face:

KSysGuard is still installed here. But I almost never use it.

My normal instinct is to run “top” in a terminal when I need that sort of information. So I won’t be losing any sleep when KSysGuard disappears.
