Hi all,
this release is gonna contain a few noticeable quality of life improvements for me, so I’m eager to install it.
I tried to monitor it on opensuse factory, but apart from seeing a bunch of requests, I don’t really know how to monitor when certain packages have been queued for the build, or to figure out why it’s not the case.
For example, from here
I tried to filter by package “kwin” and got no results.
Same for “6.0.5” and “plasma”
Any help/ideas?
Thanks
Now the question is: when is the next snapshot?

I have had Plasma 6.0.5 installed on my Tumbleweed system for a long time (two weeks, I think)!
Thanks, looks like even snapshot 20240527 should include it
Great links, thanks for sharing (@swannema too!)

Not with plain TW. That still has 6.0.4

Hello
I try to understand.
my last update is openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240524.
Here https://openqa.opensuse.org/snapshot-changes/opensuse/Tumbleweed/
there are recent updates 27, 28, 29, 30, 31.
I did not get these updates. why ?

Because they are not released…you see the little arrow in the list? Thats the actual released snapshot…
This can also easily be seen in the factory mailing list or here in the forum at the “News and announcements ” category…
Here openQA is where you can see whether a snapshot got published or not.

I was wrong: The update to 6.0.5 came on May 23, 2024. I got the update to 6.0.5 (and 24.0.5.0) via the factory repositories http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Frameworks/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ and http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Applications/KDE_Frameworks5_openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ . But be careful: you have to know what you’re doing!
Thanks for clarifying, but I am only looking for stuff that comes from snapshots that I know will work well

Are my eyes just tired or has font smoothness taken a hit with this KDE update?
I dunno it feels like on my external display (2560x1440@100%, Wayland) fonts are a bit blurry.
I guess I’ll take a pic and boot the previous snapshot to compare
Take care, I have updated and now I have blank screen after login with Plasma, Icevm works.
I had to rollback to get system working again
note: AMD discrete GPU
I had just switched to offline updates since I read about this possibility.
Update went fine here, maybe for that very reason?
