I’m hoping someone can tell me how I got the Notes icon ‘next’ to the panel, instead of buried in the panel

After I open from the ‘outside’ the panel icon, I get this large editing/entry popup.

I have not been able to duplicate on my laptop nor the HP AIO. All I get is the yellow KDE icon embedded in the panel, and a popup not much larger than a postage stamp.
Just consider me the indigent resident dummy.
