kde network manager question

I can connect to my wireless router while logged in as root, but not under my user account. I went into YAST and the user maintenance area and gave myself every permission (Add, Edit, Delete Users or Accounts), but kde network maanger will not allow me to connect to my router. Any suggestions appreciated.

To clarify, I added every group to my user account. Also, I am running 11.2 and it is a fresh install on an IBM T-30.

Not a good idea for security and other reasons! What are you trying to do? Hopefully not logged into GUI as root!

I am while troubleshooting.

There may be some (seemingly obvious questions or advice from me and others). Did you enable networkmanager first via

YaST > Network Devices > Network Settings > enable ‘User controlled with Networkmanager’

Any errors will be logged here in /var/log/NetworkManager.log, so thats a good place to look, and post the errors here.

BTW, these threads might contain relevant advice:
