I installed Suse 11.2 recently, and i have my laptop hooked up to a HD monitor.
When i choose the HD monitor, if the resolution is low, lets say 1280x800, same as my laptop, its fine. I see the mouse pointer.
But as soon as i change the resolution to 1920x1080, the pointer disappears. Mouse functionality works allright. Right click/left click works fine, and i can see the buttons getting highlighted on mouse-ever.
But the pointer is gone.
I forgot to mention, i have an Intel GMA x3100 graphics card, with a 965 chipset. The laptop is a ThinkPad R61

In the mean time you can recover the cursor by doing ctrl-alt-F1 and then ctrl-alt-F7. You cursor should reappear.
I stumbled upon this. If i increase the resolution gradually, lets say from 1280x800 to 1600x900 to 1920x1080, the cursor remains, and stays.
Its’ just that when i directly go to full hd resolution it disappears.
mine does the same in gnome or kde. when I change the res from default 1024 > 1280 mouse cursor disappears but is still functional
