On my fresh installation the menu bar shows every yast tool under system.
The folder settings is missing too.
Is this a new feature, or is it a bug?
The installation language is german, maybe the localization is not well under kde6.3 …
The YaST Modules are also there on a grown (constantly upgraded) installation. So not a new thing. It is easy to modify your application starter entries by right clicking on the starter-> Edit Applications
Which folder setting? Desktop Folder? Right-click on desktop-> Desktop and Wallpaper-> Layout
Oh, sorry.
It´s not a technical problem, everything works this way, but it´s annoying.
On older installations there were yast and yast software in system menu, that was well readable, now the menu is full of entries noone needs for work.
The old way was much better, so if this is also on updated machines it is a feature and i will wait with updates on other machines.
Too much annoying things…
one thing was spotify-easyrpm stopped working two weeks ago, making me change to flatpack.
I don´t understand why desktop layout should change the menu layout, but i use standard folder view .
Looks to me like kde6.3 brought a couple of changes.
I agree, it is very cluttered after the update to Plasma 6.3, every YaST module has now its own menu entry.
I have one additional entry called Settingsmenu.
Obviously, this is an openSUSE anomaly vs a “KDE issue”, since the YaST entries are added by openSUSE - would be best to submit a bug report.
You are right, i am now out with the dogs, later i will report this if this isn´t reported yet.
Settings should be “Einstellungen” with our german Installation, silly.
I am missing this because things like “xscreensaver settings” should remain there.
Sorry, i was not able to enter Bugzilla, my account allready exists. Stupid thing.
You can edit it yourself from the menu editor, you can delete the items you don’t want or put them in a section you created.
Basically you can do what you want easily with Plasma, personally I prefer it as it is now, at least I only start the module that interests me.
Personally (my opinion), I’d submit a report, because this is a somewhat overwhelming change. Did they do the same thing in GNOME and IceWM and so on, System menu? I’d want to know why the change.
Editing the KDE menu is going to be a hassle for a lot of users. And no, I wouldn’t want ALL the YaST modules listed individually in the System sub-menu - too overwhelming. (There’s already ~20 entries in System menu, without YaST entries).
(sidenote: We only use Leap 15.6 (used to use TW), so still on Plasma 5.x … and we are using Leap 16 in a VM, which uses Plasma 6.x, but YaST isn’t there yet, so can’t compare).
Xfce 4.20 in Tumbleweed and Slowroll, has a YaST menu with all of its modules listed.
I tried Slowroll on a spare machine, and Slowroll doesn’t show this issue, allthough it is only one week behind tumbleweed.
One of the last updates must have changed things.
