KDE Login Manager settings not taking

I’m running openSUSE 10.3. In KDE Personal Settings when I change the appearance of the Login Manager, the settings don’t take hold. In SLES 10 SP2 the settings do take hold.

I changed the GUI style from “Default” to “Motif” and Color_Scheme from “Default” to “Blue Slate”. Under SLES 10 SP2 these settings take hold but not in openSUSE 10.3.

Any ideas?
