kde log out problems

Fully updated 13.2, two users, one can log out the other can’t. I’m a bit puzzled,. any help or thoughts gratefully received.

From which desktop ?

Assume KDE due to the subject. If you need to kill the session you can always use loginctl kill-session <number gotten from loginctl output>. Does it prompt you for password or does simply nothing happen when hitting the logout button?

Probably a corruption in the user’s config files. But need detail on exactly what happens when you log the user out

thanks for replies:

yes KDE - (see title of post)

cntl-alt-backspace returns user to login screen (as you would expect)

log out button seems to do nothing (not with machine at moment) wondering if and which config files might have become corrupt

I would probably do journalctl -f while pressing the button to see if it provides anything useful.

thank you, I’ll take a look
