As 12.3 is out since yesterday, it is no longer Pre-realease. And as developing the next openSUSE version has not yet started, there will almost be nobody to look in this subforum.
Do you want to wait until nevertheless some 13.1 guy shows up here ;), or do you want me to move to a forum about the supported openSUSE versions?
thread is already going in Install/Boot/Login forum.
Is that the correct forum for this issue ?
That thread has a complete different Title (and thus subject).
Do you mean that that thread is about the same problem as this one? Then I must advise you that we do not love double posts. Double posts will create two different discussion threads about the same problem. And when people find out they are tyrying to help in one thread where there are already answers in another parallel thread of the same OP, they will feel lousey.
In any case this is NOT about Pre-release/Beta, When it is the same as the other one, we will delete it. When it is different we will move it.
Please decide.
The idea was to refer viewers of this forum to the other thread in Install/Boot/Login forum.
It was my mistake not to originally post that inquiry to this forum which is the correct place for issues of pre-release builds - openSUSE-12.3-KDE-Live-Build0094-x86_64.iso - where the problem was first observed.
And, moderators of Install/Boot/Login did not detect the wrong forum at the time of original posting.
Now that 12.3 is released, Install/Boot/Login is probably the correct place for the thread … if, hopefully, any knowledgeable developer will see the issue and recognize where in the released build something went wrong and fix it for next release.
I may not be smart enough at this point to know how to verify a bug and submit a bug report …
So, the Install/Boot/Login thread will probably end up directing me to a work around and the issue will then become moot for me, while the possible bug still waits to be propagated to the next build.
Since your advice is that no one will look at this forum for an extended period then you can close this thread in some way to leave this explanation for the curious or interested developer.
Or, if you must delete this thread, then no worries from me … although I think I may have raised awareness of the problem of a newbie to openSUSE stumbling through trying to report an issue somewhat ineffectively because of being unfamiliar with the forum organization.
Sorry for lengthy answer ; I am now exhausted … so no more comments from me.
Do as you wish.
Thanks
CLOSED.
There seems to be a thread about this subject in Install/Boot/Login (though I am not sure) :(.
