KDE Kontact Akregator web tab causes lock-up

Using openSUSE 12.3 (x86_64) KDE 4.10.5 and Kontact Akregator 4.10.5.
A web page opened in an RSS viewer Tab causes Kontact to lock up whenever links are clicked or the tab is closed. After terminate and restart the viewer Tab and web page are always recreated. Otherwise Kontact seems to work normally.
The relevant web page is here.

When Kontact is launched from Konsole:

[user] :~> kontact
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/56-user.conf", line 9: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
kontact(3818)/kdeui (kdelibs): No such XML file "/home/rob/.kde4/share/apps/kontact/default-.rc"
[user] :~> java version "1.7.0_40"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.4.1) (suse-8.18.1-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.0-b50, mixed mode)

And when Kontact GUI is closed:

kontact(3927)/kdeui (kdelibs) KXMLGUIClient::~KXMLGUIClient: 0xe9f5d0 deleted without having been removed from the factory first. This will leak standalone popupmenus and could lead to crashes.

How can I close this errant Tab?

Before posting this thread I tried a number of solutions, including restarting and logging in with alternate desktop managers.
After posting I thought to try launching Akregator in standalone mode. The errant tab was not present and Akregator worked as normal. Not wishing to push my luck I did not try loading the referenced web page. After closing Akregator and starting Kontact the errant web page was gone. So, problem solved. I appologise for posting before fully testing possible solutions.
